Antelope Valley Poppies
Poppies and goldfields blanketing the ground between the sage brush.
Sunrise shot of poppies and goldfields blanketing the ground and nice color in the clouds.
Early morning shodows begin to disappear allowing the poppies to begin opening for the day.
A nice field of poppies we found while exploring near the California Viaduct.
Sunrise shot taken on our second morning in the area. The lenicular clouds overhead added a lot of drama and interest to the scene.
Interesting cloud formation looking north across Antelope Valley toward the wind mill farm.
Anza-Borrego State Park Scenery
Sun's rays at sunset shown behind the arm of a metal cactus sculpture, entitled Saguaro, near Borrego Springs.
Another of Richardo Breceda's sculptures, a horse being attacked by a saber-tooth tiger, shot shortly after sunset.
Perhaps Ricardo's most popular sculpture, the Serpent, shot several hours before sunrise with clouds drifting in front of the Milky Way. I love the fiery nature of this shot.
Pre-sunrise shot of the Serpent showing it's full length - 350 feet - which straddles Borrego Springs Road.
Having a little fun here. We took a long dusty ride out to Font Point overlooking the Anza-Borrego badlands. This was shot at high noon so I've solarized the image to add definition and interest. An Ocotillo is growing in the foreground.

This sculpture is entitled Willys Jeep. I like the city lights and telephone lines in the background with the Milky Way overhead.
Yet another view of the Serpent, this time with morning light in the east and the Milky Way fading toward the west.
Another view the the Saguaro sculpture, this time at sunrise. The foliage in the foreground was right where I wanted to take my shot so I added it to my composition.
This sculpture is entitled Spinosaurus and was found in the Galleta Meadows along with several other interesting dinosaur sculptures.
Extinct Horse sculptures (one of several) found in the Galleta Meadows. I shot this at sunset and processed it with a softer look to go with the purple and blue hues of the earth shadow.
Another view of the Extinct Horses, this time well after sunset with just a little blue sky and Venus shining brightly overhead.
