Serpent and the Milky Way
Sculpted by Ricardo Breceda, and perhaps his most popular, the Serpent. It was shot several hours before sunrise with clouds drifting in front of the Milky Way and picking up ambient light from Borrego Springs nearby. I love the fiery nature of this shot.

Anza-Borrego Badlands (Solarized Rendition)
After a long dusty ride out to Font Point I arrived a a high overlook of the Anza-Borrego badlands. This was shot at high noon so I've solarized the image to add definition and interest. Ocotillo are growing in the foreground.

Maui Sunset at Makena
A beautiful little-used beach area in the Makena section of Maui. Islands on the horizon are Lanai (R) and Kaho'olawe (L). I love that they could easily be taken for active volcanoes given the sunset colors and clouds.

Kauai's well-known Ke'e Beach is stunning any time of the day but especially for sunsets. This is where you begin your hike along the Napali coast if you're so inclined.
